Story Time
Public story times are held each Tuesday at 11:00 AM and each Thursday at 9:00 AM in the story time room. Story time is geared to 3 to 5 year old children. No registration is required. Please attend whenever possible. Due to limited space, parents are asked not to attend the story times with their child. Storytimes


Toddler Time
For children 24 to 36 months old. Meets Tuesday at 9 AM & Thursday at 10:30 AM in the story time room. Registration is required due to limited space. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Call 273-7624 to reserve a place.
Smart Start Story Time is a free library program for parents, grandparents & their babies up to 23 months features books, songs, & nursery rhymes.

Storytime Birthday Party Rules

The Lebanon Community Library will make available the use of the Storytime and Community Rooms and provide a storytime program and craft for Storytime Birthday Parties subject to the following rules.

1. Birthday parties may be scheduled on Saturday afternoons between 1:00 and 4:00pm. Parties must conclude by 4:00 and the room vacated by 4:15.

2. Birthday parties are available for a donation of $150.00. These fees will be construed as donations to the library.

3. Birthday parties are designed for young children ages 3-6. The stories and activities will be selected for age appropriateness based on the age of the birthday child.

4. Reservations must be submitted to the Youth Services Librarian. Reservations are not guaranteed until the completed reservation form with full payment is received. If it is necessary for an individual to cancel a party, the library will retain a $50.00 cancellation fee and refund the balance. Cancellations must be made prior to 1:00pm on the Friday before the party to obtain a refund.

5. The number of children attending will be no more than 15. At least two adults, not including library staff, must be in the room at all times. These adults are responsible for monitoring and regulating the behavior of the children attending. Children will remain in the Storytime Room or Community Room during the party and may leave only when accompanied by an adult.

6. The Birthday Party package will include:
• Use of the Community Room including tables and chairs for up to 3 hours.
• A Storytime program presented by a library staff storyteller lasting approximately 20 minutes.
• A craft activity introduced by the storyteller. Assisting the children in completion of the craft is the responsibility of the party host. Craft materials will be provided by the library.
• Use of the library’s storytime puppets.
• A book to keep for each attendee from the library’s collection of gently used books.
• An insert to include with the host’s party invitations with directions to the library.
• Set up of tables and chairs.

7. The party host is responsible for:
• All refreshments, including birthday cake.
• Plates, cups, utensils, tablecloths and decorations. Taping decorations is not permissible, but poster putty may be used.
• All activities other than the storytime and accompanying craft.
• Supervision of the children attending the party at all times.
• Placing all trash in the trash containers and leaving the room in the same condition in which it was found.

8. Food and drink must be kept inside the party room.

9. Space is not available in the library to store party supplies and refreshments prior to the event. Please bring all party supplies and refreshments the day of the event.

10. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not permitted.

11. The library is not responsible for any property placed in the room in connection with the party.

12. Library equipment other than tables and chairs may not be used without prior permission. The party host assumes responsibility for any damage to library property or equipment during the event.

Redeem points at the library for free books and prizes. Also come to weekly programs at the library featuring songs, storytelling, games, and live animals. You do not need to be registered for Summer Reading to attend a program @ the library.
