Friday Crafternoon Summer Workshop:

Make a Knotted Jute Bottle

Join us and learn how to turn plain bottles into home decor. Students need to bring a bottle that they would like to work on. Everyone will take home their own roll of jute twine.

This class is for teens & adults.

Class materials fee: $3.00 payable at registration.

Registration taken at the circulation desk.

Windows 10 is coming!

This one night information program is free, no registration required. Preview the soon to be released Windows 10 and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of installing the new version, offered free to owners of a licensed WIN 7 or WIN 8 computer. A representative from Lebanon Staples will discuss the features and functions of the new software and answer your questions.

A SUMMER READ

Explore Life, Death, Medicine and What Matters in the End

Through September, the public is invited to participate in “A Summer Read,” a   unique program encouraging residents to visit local libraries to borrow Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End written by bestselling author Atul Gawande and hold discussions with their book clubs, friends, family and colleagues.

The books were provided to libraries by WITF, Wellspan Health, and PA Forward to present the “Summer Read,” a health-focused literacy program.

The goal of this year’s read is to ignite meaningful dialogue around aging, death, and what it means to grow old in the 21st century.

    Smart Start Baby Storytimes

   Smart Start Story Time is a free program for babies birth through two years of age and their parents,    grandparents, and caregivers. It features books, songs, music, and nursery rhymes. No registration is required and siblings are welcome to attend.

Baby Storytime will resume in the fall

Drop in to browse THE CELLAR for some excellent bargains on gently used books.  The Cellar is open during regular library hours except when a program is in progress in the Community Room.

All money raised by The Friends directly supports the Annville Free Library.

Friends of AFL Giant Grocery Card Fundraiser!

Do your grocery shopping and help the library at the same time!

You may purchase gift cards in denominations of $100, $50, or $25. Use them at checkout just as you would cash, check, or credit card. They never expire and they can be used at any Giant store or Giant gas pumps.

Friends earn 5% of the amount of cards sold.
