About Lebanon County Libraries

The Lebanon County Library System (LCLS) is made up of six independent public libraries serving the information needs of Lebanon county residents.

LCLS provides the means for the six libraries to share resources. These shared resources include: online catalog system, technology support, and ebook lending.

Positions Available

Lebanon County Library District

District Consultant. The Lebanon County Library District is seeking a District Consultant! This position provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a professional librarian with a desire to work closely with our six public libraries in the establishment and maintenance of quality information service to residents of Lebanon County. The Consultant reports to the District Administrator and the District Board and serves as liaison between local libraries and Commonwealth Libraries.

Examples of work include administering an established and rewarding delivery service to homebound individuals, administering an impactful district-wide technology education program, managing the eLibrary, advising libraries, and assisting with funding applications and reports.

Requires Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution with a minimum of two years in a supervisory position within public libraries. Also requires state, child abuse, and FBI clearances.

Compensation: $42,000-$48,000 plus benefits.

Matthews Public Library

Library Assistant (1 opening). Matthews Public Library is adding to our team! We are looking for an individual who will provide excellent service to library customers of all ages; assist with general library operation and other duties as assigned; and possess attention to detail, reliability, responsibility, and organizational skills.

Position title: Library Assistant
Hours: Part-Time; includes two Saturdays (9 AM – 4 PM) a month and evenings (4 PM – 8 PM) and Fridays (1 PM – 5 PM) during the week.

Essential Functions include:

  • Assists customers with library accounts, such as placing holds, renewing items, updating information, recording fines and fees, and issuing cards.
  • Assists with general computer and technology equipment.
  • Assists with general library information and services.

Lebanon Community Library

Part-time security officer position. Responsible for the security of all staff members and the library facility. Examples of work include providing courteous assistance to patrons, enforcing library behavior policies, and assisting staff and patrons as requested. Prior security experience, flexible availability (some evenings and Saturdays required), a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to help others are required.
